Mary has been a part of the funeral business since she was 7 years old. Often, her mother would pack up the kids, along with a home-cooked meal, to eat dinner with their father at the funeral home. After dinner, Mary and her brother often helped move things around in preparation for the next day. Mary always enjoyed the beautiful flowers and the messages that were sent along with them.
Ultimately, Mary decided that her first passion was teaching, and she lived out that passion for 35 years. After retiring from teaching, she decided to live out her second passion: carrying on her father's legacy of helping those experiencing loss. Her hope is to make Baum Carlock Bumgardner a funeral home that is full of compassion and care for our families.
Mary wears many hats, including Chief Financial Officer and head of Human Resources, and she is also responsible for the upkeep of the grounds and the buildings. Mary always wants the environment to be a warm and comfortable setting for families and their guests who visit during their services.
