William "Bill" Murray Carter

February 20, 1958 — July 27, 2023

William “Bill” Murray Carter, 65, passed from this life peacefully on Thursday July 27, 2023, with his loving wife Nancy by his side. He was born in Dallas, TX on February 20, 1958, to John D. Carter and Polly “Da” Sides Carter and lived most of his life in DeLeon and Mineral Wells. Visitation will be at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home from 4-6pm on Sunday July 30. Services will be held at 2pm Monday July 31 at the Mineral Wells Church of God followed by the burial at Woodland Park Cemetery. Bill went to high school in Dallas and began working in the oil field where he spent the next 30 years of his life. He absolutely loved running a rig and working in various jobs within the oil field. During this time, Bill and Xandra had three amazing children whom Bill thoroughly enjoyed spending time with going all over the state of Texas to watch ballgames. You never knew if Bill or Mae was going to be the loudest at these games and if they were going to get thrown out for yelling at the refs. Speaking of yelling, Bill was notorious for loving his Dallas Cowboys and would holler at the TV when the Cowboys weren’t doing good. He has been hollering a lot lately, but back in the 90’s, how ‘bout them Cowboys! Bill would spend the next 22 years married to his loving and caring wife Nancy. They loved each other dearly and were best friends. They also shared a deep love for their dogs. Bill would play with them for hours. He would even make them homemade treats and go out with them in the sweltering heat. Bill was a friend to many and never knew a stranger. He loved Jesus and served as the youth leader for many years at the DeLeon First United Methodist Church. Bill also attended many Walks to Emmaus. More recently, he attended the Church of God in Mineral Wells. While he will be sorely missed, we will be reunited with him in heaven. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Carter; Son, Morgan Carter and wife, Kristol; twin daughters, Amber Bullard and husband, Heath, and Azure Sessums and husband, Dustin; grandchildren, Cali Carter, Addison Carter, McKinna Peikert, Carter Peikert, Jewell Bullard, Brooklyn Sessums, and Ryleigh Sessums; brother, John Carter; sister, Paula Tucker; nephew, Ronnie Christian; nieces, Kelly Jansson and husband, Michael, and Cheryl Sullivan and husband, David; stepchildren Kimberlie Ligons and husband, Marvin, and Jennifer Masias; step-grandchildren Jarrett Masias, Jazmin Masias, Jadyn Masias, Ryhana Thompson, Arionna Thompson, and Tre Thompson; step-great grandchildren, Royalty Masias, and Reign Masias; numerous other friends.
