Rosemary Martha Furrow Barcklay passed away peacefully from this life on March 3, 2023, in Mineral Wells, Texas. She was born in Shady Spring, West Virginia on June 18, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Jack Barcklay; father Henry Furrow and mother Effie Meadows Furrow; her sister Dollie Basham; brothers Paul, Edward, and Landon Furrow; nieces Carol Golden Blackwell Imes and Debbie Golden.
Rosemary moved to Texas with her sister Dollie in 1956 where she met and married her husband Jack Barcklay, from Ione, Washington; he was stationed at Fort Wolters in Mineral Wells. They were married for 32 years until his death in 1989. They had two daughters, Rebecca Lamb and husband Jim, and Cathy Burns and husband Bubba, and son Jack Barcklay, Jr. She has six grandchildren, Ben Mills and wife Misty, Jared Walker, Josh and Tyler Barcklay, Shaun and Shannon Burns, Michael Lamb and wife Mary; ten great-grandchildren: Austin and Adrian Mills, Yari and Ivy Barcklay, Ethan and wife Adalyn, Mason, Kara and Kalyn Burns, Alivia and Ava Hunsaker. Rosemary is also survived by her brothers Gene Furrow and wife Jenny, John Furrow and wife Norma; sisters Molly Pack and her close friend Brice Cox, Cloetta Bennett and husband Robert; plus numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Rosemary loved children and babysat over fifty children during her life. She could tell you the names of each and every one of them. She kept the nursery at Lawn Terrace Baptist Church for over twenty years. Children that were very special to her were: Adam Roming, Tiffany Roming, Brian and Scott Cromeens. She also babysat Bobby, Jimmy, and Danny Bazzell for her good friends, of 60 years, Bobby and Wilma Bazzell.
She was a very giving, loving, and special lady. She will be missed, and life will not be the same without her sense of humor, words of wisdom, and humorous stories of her active life.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Fairview Baptist Church where she was a member. Interment will follow at Indian Creek Cemetery.
