Pamela Gay Best

Our beautiful and beloved mother, Pamela (Pam) Gay Glover Best (66), of Mineral Wells, TX., went to be with her Lord and Savior in the early hours of July 4, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters. 

Born Feb 1, 1957, in Odessa, TX., to the parents of Rev. George E. and Dorothy Glover of Mineral Wells, TX., Pam grew up most of her life in the Mineral Wells area where she was known by many by her musical talents and leadership in the Baptist church community. Pam was married to her late husband, David W. Best of Mineral Wells, TX., in the summer of 1982, until David's passing in 2012. During their 29 years of marriage, Pam served by her husband's side as a pianist, youth minister, and Pastor's wife in Mineral Wells.  Together they co-founded a gospel group, “In His Name” which went on to be known as “The Best Family Trio” that was nominated 2 years running by the Texas Southern Gospel Association as “Group of the Year”. Also, in 2006 Pam received female vocalist of the year.  In that group, Pam played the piano, led and harmonized in vocals, and ministered through music. Pam was the mother of 4 children; Shayne Tipton (1976), Candace Tipton (1978), Curtis Best (1983), and Alicia Best (1984). 

Pam served in many local churches, Westside Baptist, Parker Street Baptist, Northside Baptist, Indian Creek Baptist, Possum Kingdom Baptist and volunteered in many youth ministry events, which touched the lives of hundreds of Mineral Wells youth during her service to her Father God. 

Pam is proceeded in death by her husband, David Wayne Best, her parents, George E. and Dorothy Glover, her brother, Wayne Glover of Mineral Wells, TX, and her 1st grandchild, Austin Jacob (AJ) Threatt of Mineral Wells, TX. 

Pam is survived by her sister, Deborah Allen, her son Shayne Tipton of Mineral Wells, her daughter Candace Rynders and her husband Carson Rynders of Abilene, TX, her son Curtis Best and his wife Lorrane Best of Mineral Wells,  TX, and her daughter Alicia Eisenburg and her husband George Eisenburg of Mineral Wells, TX,  and her 14 grandchildren. Bree Purcell, Canaan Tipton, Mackenzie Best, Kaydence Best, Matt Rynders, Monet Tipton, Ramzey Best, Braylee Best, Alexis Eisenburg, Dakota Best, Jacob Rynders, Edwin Eisenburg, Everly Rynders, Jordyn Eisenburg.

Pam, our Mother, will be deeply missed and her earthly absence will leave an emptiness deep within our lives till our final days. However, her abundance of love and her willingness to give will live on through our hearts, and her memory will live on through the lives of our children, and their children, forevermore. Her spirit lives on with us all as strong today as it was any day before. 

Services for Pam will be on Sunday, July 9, 2023, 3pm at Fairview Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, TX. We invite all of those who would like to be apart of celebrating the life of our mother with the musical praise she touched all of our hearts with through her musical talents and her heavenly voice.
