James Denery Picard

James “Jim” Picard, 80, passed through this life and gained his heavenly reward on May 3, 2023.  He was a long-time resident of Palo Pinto, Tx. 

Jim was born in Dallas, Tx on February 17,1943 to Denery and Aurebale “Tink” Picard.  His family moved to Mineral Wells in 1959. 

He married his high school sweetheart, Glenna Lou Pennington, on February 23, 1963.  They had two children Wesley and Alice.

Jim worked as a rancher and an electrician throughout his life and his joy was ranching with his father-in-law Chester Pennington.

Survivors include wife, Glenna Picard; son and girlfriend, Wesley Picard and Nicki Butler; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Ed Ramsey; grandchildren, Evan and Whitney Ramsey, and Caden Ramsey; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Jamie Ramsey.

He is preceded in death by his parents Denery and Aurebale Picard.

Jim’s services will be Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10:00am at the First Baptist Church in Palo Pinto and graveside to follow at Palo Pinto Cemetery. Pallbearers will be:  Evan Ramsey, Caden Ramsey, Eddie Ramsey, Mark Pennington, Jake Price and Caleb Butler. Honorary pallbearers:  Troy Savage, Ray Price, and Robert Bynum.
