Zelda Emberlin, 92, passed away October 10, 2012 in Mineral Wells. Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Zelda Lorraine Baker Emberlin was born June 9, 1920 in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was the youngest of eight children and the last survivor of that family. She moved to Texas as a child, graduated High School in Brownwood, Texas in 1938. She married Jodie Martin Emberlin in 1940. They moved to Mineral Wells from Bennett in 1943 and she lived in Mineral Wells for the remainder of her life. Zelda Emberlin was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She never met a stranger and loved to sit and talk with anyone who had the time. In her later years, going to Jack-in-the-Box for coffee was the highlight of her day. She had many friends there and never missed a day as long as she could still drive. Her sense of humor and bubbling personality will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jodie Emberlin, and a grandson, Thomas Scott, her parents, sisters and brothers. Survivors include: her daughter, Rickie Ann Eichler, Kerrville; her son and daughter-in- law, Danny and Mary Emberlin, Kerrville; grandson Dave Eichler and wife, Rosie, San Antonio; granddaughters Ravan Powell and Brandy Gallop, Mena, Arkansas; nine great grandchildren, close friend Maribel Cortes, and many other friends.
