Windell Piner Thomasson Sr. died Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Palo Pinto hospital. He was born October 31, 1955 to Windell and Mary (Underwood) Thomasson in Anson, Texas. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Piner was the owner of Old Piner Construction Marine at Possum Kingdom Lake. He retired from Graford Rural Volunteer Fire and EMS after 39 years. He worked for Graham Fire Department and EMS and was Graford's City Marshal. PINER SERVED IN VIETNAM AS A TAIL GUNNER AND HOOK MAN IN VIETNAM, SURVIVED AND CAME HOME A WOUNDED WARRIOR.PINER GREW UP ON THE SWENSEN AND HAULED CATTLE FOR MOST OF THE RANCHES AND BARNS IN TEXAS AND ALL OTHER STATES.PINER is survived by JON CAROL CARSEY of Possum Kingdom Lake, TX; sons: Michael Thomasson and wife Casie of Graford, TX, Windell Piner Thomasson Jr. of Graford, TX; sisters: Ann Hicks and husband Gayle of Knox City, TX, and Jan Dillard and Duane of Fort Worth, TX; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friend Rocky Timmons and wife Sandy.PINER WAS PRECEDED IN death by his mother, father, grand-parents, baby brother, grandson Mikey, and 2 nephews.PINER'S FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH POSSUM KINGDOM AT 10 AM FRIDAY MORNING. AFTER THE SERVICE, A WONDERFUL MEAL WILL BE SERVED AT THE CHURCH.
