Willis Emmett Peddy, Jr., better known as “Grandpa” to his friends and family, passed away December 27, 2021 in Mineral Wells. He was born September 3, 1926 in Vera, Texas, to Willis and Edna Blackburn Peddy, Sr.
Willis proudly served in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. Willis enjoyed spending time with the Breakfast Club. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Josie Richards Peddy and BJ Trimmer Peddy; son, Charles Peddy; his parents; and nine siblings.
Survivors include his daughter, Elwanda McAfee and husband Lonnie; grandchildren, Clark McAfee and wife Carmen, Tonya Brogdon and husband Chester, Tricia Lewis and husband Jay, Donnie McAfee and wife Julie, CJ Peddy and wife Adrianne; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Hawkins; daughter in law, Lenora Morgan and husband Joe; step-children, Paula Johnson and Jimmy Kennedy; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, December 31, 2021 at First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Willow Pond Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Senior Prime Time Group.
