William Goen

William Fred "Bill" Goen Sr., 73, passed away September 20, 2009 at his home in Mineral Wells. He was born May 31, 1936 in Bennett the son of Fred and Gladys Lack Goen. He married Bernice Willhite on August 17, 1960 in Denison. He had lived in Mineral Wells since 1960. He moved away but was back in 1970. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of the Millsap Masonic Lodge and a Shriner for about 38 years. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto with Rev. J. J. Mayo officiating. Burial will follow in Poe Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife: Bernice Goen of Mineral Wells, sons and daughters-in-law: "Bill" William F. Jr. and Dollie Goen of Mineral Wells, Jimmy and Lela Goen of Palo Pinto, grandchildren and spouses: Ed and Candice Goen, Brittney Goen, Erika Goen, Blaine Goen, Earon Gatlin, Amanda and Julian Williams, Justina Salters, Jessica Salters, great-grandchildren: Riley and Corey Goen, Trista Gatlin, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Eldonna Goen of Millsap, Curtis and Wenda Goen of Whitt, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Larry Jack and David Goen.
