William David "Dub" Gober, 89, of Mineral Wells, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in a Ft. Worth hospital. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with burial in the Indian Creek Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Williams will officiate and members of Mineral Wells Masonic Lodge #611 will serve as pallbearers and provide graveside honors. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday.Dub was born October 10, 1920 in Sylvester, Texas, the son of John Dee and Mary Delia Woodall Gober and was one of ten children. He married Lucille Marie Smith on November 18, 1940 and they lived their lives in Mineral Wells. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He worked at PECO most of his life and was a Past Master of Mineral Wells Masonic Lodge #611. He was a man of his word and loved a good laugh.Dub was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years; parents; sisters, Sally Marie, Grace Loraine, Lottie Louise and Mary Alice.Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Annie L. and Joe Lipe of Anges, TX and Wanda J. and Andy Anderson of Mineral Wells; brothers and sisters, James "Mitty" Melton Gober and family, Edna Ruth Simmons and family, John Dee Gober, Jr. and family, Bessie Lou Wright and family, Perry Joe Gober and family; grandchildren, Mervin David Lipe, Ricky Lee Kimbrell, Joann Roeber, Jeff Kimbrell, and David Earl Lipe; numerous great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
