William "Bill" Perry Carter went to be with our Lord on February 3, 2016. He was 87. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on August 6, 1928. He was raised in the small community of Toto until 7th grade, when they moved to Poolville, Texas. He met and married his beloved wife of 67 years Mary Lou, in 1948, and they soon began a family. He had a long career in law enforcement, serving his community well. He retired from the DPS in 1992 after serving 36 years. He has been a resident of Mineral Wells for 59 years. Bill enjoyed life and loved his family, enjoyed spending time with them and watching them play sports. He played basketball, volleyball, softball, bowled, and in his later years, loved golf. He was a great marksman and loved firearms. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, and became a Christian at the age of 16. Services will be 2 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Mark Bumpus officiating. Burial will follow in Poolville Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife: Mary Lou Allen Carter, children: Priscilla Geeo and husband Hershell, Billie Colvin and husband Charles, Perry Carter and Rhonda Yocom, and Stanley Carter and wife Tyra, 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and daughter: Elaine.
