Wilbur Masterson

Wilbur Joe "Bat" Masterson, 69, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness while surrounded by loving family and friends at his home on Tuesday, July 24th. He was a loving husband, father, and friend. He was also a man of many hobbies and talents. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, restoring antique cars, carving, drawing, making knives, building guns, woodworking, being a musician, bluegrass music, completing word puzzles, avid dog lover, masonry, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. He served the City of Fort Worth as an engineer on the Fort Worth Fire Dept. for twenty-nine years until he retired in 1995. He was a longtime member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Indian Creek Baptist Church, Building Fund, 104 Indian Creek Road, Mineral Wells, Texas, 76067. Survivors are wife Janace Diann Masterson, daughters, Laronda Lee and husband Michael, Dawna Martin and husband Eddie, Tina Ralls and husband Richard, Darla McKinney and husband Rick, Cathy Johnson and husband Ronnie and Connie Bitters and husband David; daughter-in-law Donna Robbins; 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers Donald Masterson and wife Toni, Winford Masterson and best friend Paul (Corky) Blythe and wife Betty. He was preceded in death by parents Carroll and Bertie Masterson and a son, Ricky Robbins. Visitation will be Friday July 27, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. The service will be held at Indian Creek Baptist Church on Saturday July 28, 2012 at 10 A.M. with burial following at Indian Creek Cemetery.
