Wilbur "Pappy" Granberry, born 12-18-1922, passed away November 11, 2014 at the age of 91. Wilbur served in the Army in WWII and joined the Highway Patrol April 1st, 1949 graduating from the 15th recruit school. He served on the Highway Patrol in Ft. Worth, Kilgore, Vernon, Graham and Wichita Falls retiring there in 1978 after 29 years of service to the people of the State of Texas. Wilbur moved to his cabin on Possum Kingdom Lake with his wife, Mary Lee, and lived there until 2010 when he moved to Mineral Wells. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Mary Lee, a daughter, Pat Tabor, two sons, Ron and Henry, five grandchildren; Aaron, Damon, and Joshua Tabor, Jake and Adam Granberry, 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Cyrianna and Keely Tabor. He was preceded in death by a grandchild Spence Tabor and a brother Paul Granberry. Visitation at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner, Mineral Wells, Tx Friday November 14, 2014. Graveside services at Woodlawn Park Cemetery 10A.M., Mineral Wells, Saturday November 15, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wilbur's memory should be sent to St. Peter's By the Lake Episcopal Church, Graford or St Luke's Episcopal Church, Mineral Wells.
