Vivian Laverne Swanner Witt, 81, died October 24, 2012, in Amarillo, Texas. Vivian was born January 13, 1931, in Erath County, Texas, to Daniel Presley Swanner Jr. and Bessie Gladis (Venable) Swanner. She attended Rush Creek School in Erath County and graduated from Strawn High School. Vivian worked for many years and retired from Phillips Components in Mineral Wells, Texas. Vivian enjoyed outdoor activities especially gardening. She loved caring for animals and the farm she owned south of Thurber, Texas. Vivian was a good cook and especially loved family gatherings at holidays. She married William Woodly Witt of Mingus, Texas on December 24, 1948. They were married in Strawn, Texas and shared 45 years of marriage. Vivian is survived by her children: Noella Laverne Finley of Dimmitt, Texas; James David Witt and Timothy Wayne Witt. both of Mineral Wells, Texas. Grandchildren: Kevin Dow & wife Kacy, Kenneth Dow, Karissa Kroll and husband Kent, Victoria Finley, Keith Finley, Tessica Witt, Timothy Witt Jr. Great-Grandchildren: Colton Mason, Clay Mason, Taegin Witt, Brittyn Witt, Kenneth Dow Jr., Cole Dow, Meagan Dow, Ace Dow Great-Great Grandchildren: Myiah Kress Sister: Gladis Parr of Stephenville, Texas Brother: Richard Swanner and wife Marjanna of Gordon, Texas Numerous nephews, nieces and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Woodly Witt; brother Robert Swanner and wife Jimmie. Arrangements are with Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 6-9PM on Friday, October 26, 2012. Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Gordon, Texas on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 10AM. Pastor Michael Jones will be officiating.
