Vivian Malicoat, 94 years of age, gained her victory on May 10, 2011, as she slipped into eternal peace surrounded by her loving family and friends. Vivian was an accomplished homemaker and excelled in her ability to do crochet, tatting, and embroidery. Throughout the many years of her handiwork, which began at an early age, she made numerous extremely beautiful works, such as dollies, table cloths, pillow cases, bed spreads, handkerchiefs, among others. Age did not diminish her ability to work with her hands and up to the very end; she continued to make priceless mementos for her children and their families. She was a long time member of the North Oak Church of Christ. Services will be 4 PM Friday, May 13, 2011 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Keith S Turner officiating. Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank in 2002, her daughters Lorena and Jessie, her parents James and Lulu Boyd. She is survived by her sons FJ Malicoat and wife Rhonda of Brownwood, Texas; Gary Malicoat and wife Sue of Liberty Hill, Texas; daughter Gloria Turner and husband Keith of Mineral Wells, Texas; sister in law Theata Malicoat of Mineral Wells; grandchildren Karina Samaniego, James Allen Malicoat, Marsha Nichols, Barbara Arnold, Bruce Malicoat, Laura Howard, Jaime Mcinnis, Kristi Overbeck, and Kalan Turner; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed greatly by her family and friends. All who knew her were awed by her gracious giving spirit and regularly granted visitors gifts of her many assorted works of beauty. As she touched the lives of those who were close and dear to her so tenderly, an empty space now resides in their hearts. Only God can help heal and fill the empty space in their hearts. We know that He will do so because of His great Love for us.
