Virginia Roop

Virginia Louise Roop, 84, passed away April 6, 2014 in a Mineral Wells hospital. She was born October 13, 1929 in Hobart, Oklahoma the daughter of John Thomas and Emily Esther Hunsinger Madderra. She married Franklin Roop on September 15, 1946 in Brownwood. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells. She worked as a nurse in the past, but was a preachers wife most of her life. She was a member of the Assemblies of God Church. Services will be 2 PM Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Cityview Community Church. Burial will follow in Whitt Cemetery. Visitation is at the church from 12-2 PM before the service. She is survived by her husband: Rev. Franklin Roop of Mineral Wells, daughters and son-in-law: Sharon and David Warren of Saginaw, Linda Roop of Mineral Wells, son and daughter-in-law: Rev. Phillip and Denise Roop of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, grandchildren: Bryan, Melanie, Jason, Theresa, Jared, Sabra, and Jonah, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, brother and sister-in-law: Harold and Shirley Madderra of Knoxville, Tennessee, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pleasant Hill Children's Home at 292 HWY 84, Fairfield, TX 75840 in her memory.
