Verna Ruth Brooker, 78, of Waxahachie, passed suddenly at her residence, on Saturday, September1, 2012. She was born April 14, 1934, in Mineral Wells, the daughter of Chester and Dona Mae Morris Wampler. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Marsha McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Holders Chapel Cemetery. The pallbearers will be John Brumlow, Jr. Celacio Jemenez, Junior Griffith, Chris Brumlow, Bobby Brumlow and Johnny Brumlow, III. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Tuesday.Mrs. Brooker lived most of her life in Mineral Wells until 2006 when, because of her health, she moved to Waxahachie to be with her daughter. She was preceded in death by her first husband and married John Brumlow in Weatherford. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was employed in housekeeping services and was a loving mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great-grandmother. She was a member of the Pentecostal church and was very vocal in her Christian faith and witness.She is survived by her son, John Brumlow, Jr. and his wife Heidi of Mineral Wells; two daughters, Virginia Milburn and life partner, Junior C. Griffith of Midlothian and Mary Diane Jimenez of Mineral Wells; eight grandchildren, Johnny III, Robert, Jamie, Amanda, Christopher, Matthew, Rachel and Santana; 27 great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren; a brother Bobby Wampler of Mineral Wells and numerous nieces and nephews.
