Velma Marie Teddlie Edwards

Velma Marie Teddlie Edwards, born March 1st, 1930 in Mineral Wells, Texaspassed away in her home in Santo, Texas on December 29th, 2009 surrounded byher family. In addition to being a dedicated wife and homemaker, Velma'soccupation for many years was in house-keeping at the Stephenville Hospitalfrom which she retired in 1992. She was a faithful member of the SantoChurch of Christ for over 50 years. Velma was preceded in death by herparents James Milton Teddlie and Marie Vivian Hicks Teddlie, a son CharlesLeonard Edwards, a brother James Lowell Teddlie, and a grandson Jeremy WaynePerry. She is survived by her loving husband Charles Edwin Edwards of Santo,son David Michael Edwards and wife Kathy of Haltom City, son Charles AllenEdwards and wife Royleen of Santo, daughter Peggy Edwards Bridges andhusband Steven of Kyle, daughter Annette Edwards McClendon and husband Royof Whitt. She is also survived by her sister, Elouise Gay of Weatherford andher brother Leon Teddlie and wife Jessie of Whitt as well as hergrandchildren: Crystal Buck, Jeff Gardner, Lindsay Spencer, John Edwards,Blaine Edwards, Mori Edwards, Jason Perry, Julie Steen, Shelbi McClendon,Cameron McClendon and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Velma was a loving wife, mother and MaMa (Grandma). She enjoyed singing atchurch and was an accomplished piano player. Velma served as a role modelfor many young women in her community and was well known for her cooking,most notably her homemade rolls and excellent dessert pies. The family wouldlike to thank IntegraCare Hospice of Mineral Wells for their compassionateassistance in caring for our precious loved one. Visitation with the familywill be on Thursday, December 31st between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at the SantoChurch of Christ and the funeral service will be at the Santo Church ofChrist on Friday, January 1st at 10:00 am. Flowers may be sent to theBaum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells or donations in lieuof flowers may be sent to the Medina Children's Home in memory of Velma.
