Valmon Watts

Valmon Joseph Watts, 90, of Weatherford, TX passed away October 26, 2011. Graveside services will be 2 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 at Staggs Prairie Cemetery with Rev. Paul Taylor officiating. Born in Frost, Louisiana, August 20, 1921, he was the son of William C (Buck) Jr. and Birdie Bell Harrell Watts. He married Helen Marie Weide Watts January 14, 1953 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Valmon (V.J.) was a decorated military veteran with 23 years of Army service. He served in WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam era. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Trainham of Weatherford, TX; brother and sister-in-law Victor and Marie Watts of Denham Springs, LA; Sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Floyd Waggnor of Springfield, LA., Grandchildren and spouses; Valmon and Susan Trainham of Lingleville, TX; Phyllis and Kelly Peel of Weatherford, TX; Rev. Steven and Courtney Peeler of Hastings, NE; Scott Peeler of Salisbury, NC.; five great-granddaughters, one great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in his Memory.
