Uta Helene Kemperman, aged 80, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020 at a hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, after a courageous and brave ten-year battle with Alzheimers. The illness never took away her sweet, positive and sunny disposition.
Mrs. Kemperman was born in Langenberg, Germany on November 30, 1940 to Max and Anita Koettgen. She married Ben Kemperman in a civil ceremony in England on October 9, 1969 and in a religious ceremony in Germany on December 27, 1969.
She received a university degree in Bonn, Germany, where she earned her German teaching certification, and later earned her U.S.A. teaching certification. She taught 2nd grade for 20 years in both Germany and Mineral Wells.
After they were married, Mr. and Mrs. Kemperman lived in England, Belgium, the Netherlands and finally moving to Mineral Wells, Texas in 1982. Following Mr. Kemperman's passing in 1997, Mrs. Kemperman remained in Mineral Wells until 2002, when she moved to Fort Worth, Texas and resided there ever since.
Mrs. Kemperman enjoyed being an active part of her community. She always sang in a church choir (Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, First United Methodist Church, both in Mineral Wells, and University Christian Church in Fort Worth), she was a member of the Mineral Wells Women’s Club, the Fort Worth Symphony League, the Fort Worth French Club and she loved playing tennis regularly. She took classes to improve her French and to learn Italian, and most of all, she loved attending the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra concerts, as her true passion was classical music. She also loved travelling and annually returned to Europe to visit family and friends.
Survivors include her son Dirk Kemperman and daughter Karen Wells; brother Rutger Koettgen and sister-in-law Hannelore Koettgen; sister Vera Schulze; nephews Julius Koettgen and Stefan Schulze; son-in-law, Adam Wells; and grandchildren Ella and Charlie Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben Kemperman and brother-in-law Wolfgang Schulze.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Bethesda Gardens Memory Care, Fort Worth, for the loving and professional care they provided Mrs. Kemperman in the last several years of her life.
Mrs. Kemperman was buried in Woodland Park Cemetery, Mineral Wells, next to her husband, in a private graveside ceremony. She will be immensely missed by all who loved her and were touched by her kind, loving and generous nature.
Memorials can be made to the Alzheimers Association (www.alz.org). Please find the Uta Kemperman Tribute Page.
