Tom A. Myers, 76, passed away May 10, 2009 at his home in Mineral Wells. He was born February 14, 1933 in Mineral Wells the son of Clint and Muff Flowers Myers. He married Judy Baker on January 10, 1953 in Artesia, New Mexico. He was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was past president of the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce and past Captain of the Palo Pinto County Sherriff's Posse. His legacy to Mineral Wells is what is known as Crawford Carter and Thompson. He founded the company on January 2, 1961 and was the managing partner until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Mineral Wells Rotary Club. Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Woods officiating. The pallbearers will be David Myers, Frank Waddy, Charles Carter, John Ritchie, Tom Key, and Dwain Nix. Burial will follow in Staggs Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife: Judy Myers of Mineral Wells, daughter and son-in-law: Terry and Jim Aycock of Fort Worth, grandson: Kevin Hulslander of Waco, niece and husband: Suzanne and Bobby West of New Mexico, brother-in-law: J. T. Turner of New Mexico, step-brothers: Lonnie Herrera, Herb Myers, and Richard Myers all of New Mexico, Charles Herrera of Maryland, brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jim and Bobbie Baker of Michigan, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, and his son: Mark Myers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Heart Association in Tom's memory.
