Stuart Eugene Bruchey, Sr.

Stuart Eugene Bruchey Sr. passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia C. Bruchey. Stuart was born November 8, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Maryland to George T. and Evelyn M. Bruchey.

Stuart was raised on a dairy farm in Frederick, Maryland and graduated from Frederick High School. He then attended college at the University of Maryland until he entered the United States Air Force, he later went on to graduate from Angelo State University. While in the Air Force he met and married Patricia Coylene Witherspoon on January 24, 1960.

After college they moved to Carmine, Texas where he taught Social Studies for seven years at Round Top-Carmine High School. Stuart then went into business for himself as a painting and siding contractor. He also served as Mayor of Carmine from 1990 to 1994. He operated a successful business with his wife Patricia until he retired in 2009 and moved to Mineral Wells.

Stuart is survived by his daughter Callie Korth and husband David; son Stuart Bruchey Jr. and wife Tonya; grandchildren R.J. Rychlik, Phillip Rychlik, Jessica Grimes, Lauren Jorgenson and Jacob Crnkovic. He is also survived by sisters, Carole Ann Fouche’, Sandra Deatherage, and Sharon Busch and brothers, George Bruchey, Gerald Bruchey, and Charles Bruchey.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Sturdivant Cemetery in Mineral Wells, Texas.
