Shirley Milliken

Shirley Milliken passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in an Abilene hospital. Shirley was born August 7, 1927 to Willie & Mary Jane Thomas Knight in Mineral Wells, TX. Services will be Monday, November 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Harp officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School. She married Corbett Milliken on her birthday in 1948. They made their home in Mineral Wells for 50 years. She was a homemaker and worked at the Brazos River Gas Company for 14 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught primary children for 50 years. She is survived by her son Mike Milliken, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Ginny Milliken of Mineral Wells, daughter and son-in-law Patti & Richard Walker of Abilene; sister Frances Knight of Mineral Wells, 6 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 3 brothers.
