Sarita Monroe 81 of Mineral Wells passed away on December 7, 2016. Visitation will be held on Monday December 12, 2016 1pm with service directly following at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. She was born in Mills County, Texas the third of four children to Clem and Joyce Cockrum Howard. She grew up in Goldthwait, Texas and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UNT. After college she lived and worked in Dallas. She met and later married Richard Ruben Monroe, from Mineral Wells on February 15, 1974. In Mineral Wells they had a home and she continued to work various businesses in the area, she held titles such as bookkeeper, legal assistant, office manager, executive assistant and personnel manager. Sarita was a favorite aunt of all her nieces and nephews who she would bestow on "life lessons" of common sense values that she herself always portrayed. She had a quick, but quiet, sense of humor even though throughout her life she was a bit on the shy side. She was extremely loved by all of her relatives and will be sorely missed at all future family gatherings. Heaven just received the most precious angel possible. Survivors are sister, Virginia Boren of Brady, Texas; step-daughter, Susie Monroe of Marble Falls, Texas, nieces, Susan Jones of Marble Falls, Vickie Kelly of Salado, Texas and Gayla Heberling of Fort Worth; nephews, Clem Howard III, Michael Howard and Billy Howard all of Sweetwater, Texas; 5 great step-children, 6 great nieces, 5 great nephews, 8 great-great nieces and 8 great-great nephews. She was preceded by parents, Clem and Joyce Howard of Goldthwaite; husband, Richard Monroe of Mineral Wells; brother, Clem Howard Jr. of Sweetwater and step-son Jeffery Monroe of Dallas.
