Ruby Spurgeon

Ruby Ruth Spurgeon, 86, passed away September 17, 2011 in a Weatherford nursing home. She was born December 7, 1924 in Washington D. C. the daughter of Charles and Mary King Lucher. She married Robert "Bob" Spurgeon on April 13, 1963 in Decatur. She was a longtime resident of Weatherford. She was Baptist. Services will be 10 AM Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Rock Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Lively officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Lewis and Marsha Smethers of Fort Worth, step son and wife: Robert and Debbie Spurgeon of Cleburne, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 2004, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
