Roy Glen Keeling

Roy Glen Keeling, 82, of Mineral Wells passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020. He was born in Craig, Colorado on April 9, 1938, to Lee and Beulah Medlock Keeling. His parents worked on various ranches from Colorado to Texas during his school years. Roy achieved his GED when he was drafted in the Army in 1962. He was honorably discharged in Fort Wolters, Mineral Wells, Texas in April of 1964; he remained in the Army Reserves until April of 1968. He learned to operate heavy equipment while in the Army and from this experience he was employed by C and B Pole Line Company from 1966 to 1976, at this time he started Roy Keeling Contractors, which is still in existence today. Roy loved his community and loved to work especially working on his farm and working his cattle.

Roy is survived by his wife, Nelda Keeling, who was by his side through 56 years of marriage and at his passing; son, Terrence “Terry” Keeling and wife Brenda; daughter, Robin Kelly and husband Stephen; grandsons, Kristopher “Kris” Keeling, Kaleb Keeling and wife Paige, Matthew Donica and Andrew Donica; great-grandchildren, Channing Keeling, Kase Keeling, Kamdyn Keeling, and Kinslea Keeling all of the Ballew Springs Community. He is also survived by sister, Marlys Lively of Palestine, Tx and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Keeling and John Keeling; and granddaughter, Kindle Keeling.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Bellew Springs Baptist Church, 2301 Ballew Springs Rd, with Dr. Steve Edge officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospital.
