Ross Grable 80 passed away June 14, 2011 at his home. The son of Paul and Alberta Christian Grable was born in Mineral Wells. Ross was very loved by his family, and will be remembered as a very kind and gentle individual, though he did have a good sense of humor and liked playing pranks on people, all those involved received just as much humor from him as he got from giving to them. He was married for 54 years, and was one in a million to his family. He served honorably for 20 ½ years in the U.S. Army, and returned from Vietnam a decorated soldier revered by his family and friends. He did not stop at that, he was a general manager for McDonalds for over 15 years he was a driving force for success and growth of McDonald's in Killeen, Texas. When he had free time he enjoyed spending it in the yard, mowing, planting and trimming, he was also an avid pool player. His Sundays were devoted to family and morning worship. In the fall he watched his NFL football, especially his Dallas Cowboys. His loyalty to family and friends were unmatched. He will be missed dearly by his family and all those whose life he came across. Survivors are wife Betty Grable; daughters Brenda and Patricia Grable of Mesquite; sister Barbara and husband James Elliston of Mineral Wells; brothers Billy and wife Lucy Grable of San Diego CA. and David Grable of Fairfield CA.; cousin Ralph "Bub" Adcox; nieces and nephews Jimmy Ellsiton, Nan and Alvy Dodson, Gary and Marylyn Grable, Jimmy, Steve and Bob Grable, Ivan Grable and Michelle and Chris Sanders along with many friends. He was preceded by parents, a sister Peggy Moore and brother Raymond "Bub" Grable. Visitation is at the funeral home on Friday June 17, 2011 from 6-8PM with services being held at the Eleventh Avenue Church on Saturday June 18, 2011 at 10AM, burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
