Rose Salena Glover Shires

Rose Salena (Glover) Shires, age 87 of Mineral Wells, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was born August 31, 1937 in Mineral Wells.

She married the love of her life, Garland David Shires, on September 3, 1954. They had four beautiful children during their life together. They were married 60 years before Garland passed away in 2014. Rose worked at Texas Power & Light for many years before retiring in the 90’s.

Rose was preceded in death by husband, Garland Shires; daughter, Penny Shires Roe; parents, Thomas Addison Glover and Lillie Belle (Harrington) Glover; brother, Nolan Glover; and son-in-law, Monty Young. She is survived by children Salena Shires Young, Terry (Brenda) Shires, and David (Sheila) Shires. Grandchildren Wes Young, Shawn Young, Monica Hartt, Morenci Locke, Amanda Shires, Ashley Shires, Jerry Shires, Jacob Mata, Fred Mata, Trey Adkins, Colt Shires, Ashtyn Haynes & Zackery Shires. Along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, she is also survived by siblings Harold (Tommie) Glover, Geneva (Jim ) Searcy, Kathryn Fant, Iola (Jim) Messinger and Barbara (Kenny) Haines.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Baum-Carolock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Willow Pond Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Jerry Shires, Jacob Mata, Fred Mata, Trey Adkins, Colt Shires, Zackery Shires, Jimmy Shires and KC Shires.
