Rosa Fern Albin

Rosa Fern Albin, 85, passed away December 4, 2015 in Mineral Wells. She was affectionately known as Granny Fern. She was born July 21, 1930 in Ranger the daughter of Foy and Rosa Fitzpatrick Atkins. She moved to Mineral Wells at age 8 and has been an active member of the Mineral Wells Church of God since that time, rarely missing a service. She worked at the Baker Hotel for her first job. She graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1948. She met her husband, Glen Z. Albin, in 1951 where she worked at the movie theatre downtown. She told her co-worker, "I will marry that short little man someday." They soon dated and on April 29, 1952 were married. Fern and Glen began a 63 year adventure together filled with memories, love, and laughter. She loved attending all activities involving her children and grandchildren, as well as the youth of her church. Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at the Mineral Wells Church of God. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband: Glen Z. Albin of Mineral Wells, sons and daughter-in-law: Harold Albin of Granbury, Mark and Johnna Albin of Mineral Wells, grandchildren and spouses: Toby and Kristi Albin of Mineral Wells, Felicia and Nicholas Kuo of Dallas, Taylor Albin of Mineral Wells, great-grandchildren: Jaxon Albin and Kennedy Kuo, brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Evelyn Atkins of Hurst, niece: Patricia Kline of Tyler, nephew: Herbert Atkins of Paradise, and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son: Tim Albin, and daughter-in-law: Vada Albin.
