Ron L. Yandell passed from this life on December 27, 2016. He was born in Waldron, Arkansas on October 31, 1949 to Chester and Jessie Yandell. He grew up in Olton, Texas and graduated from Olton High in 1968, then attended West Texas State University. Ron was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated Texas Tech Law School in 1978, and practiced law in Wichita Falls for many years before marrying Cora Moore in 1994. He later closed his Wichita Falls office, and joined his wife in practice in Mineral Wells. Ron was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He had a love of sports, especially basketball, track and golf. His favorite sports teams were the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. He was a hard worker, whether in the office or on the family pecan orchard. He loved his family, Snickers, Dr. Pepper, Nilla Wafers, Oreos, sweet tea and books, spending many nights in his recliner reading into the wee hours of the morning. Ron is survived by his wife, Cora Moore Yandell, of Mineral Wells; son, Travis P. Yandell and wife, Julie; grandchildren, Eva Yandell, Keegan Yandell and Aiden Yandell, all of Wichita Falls; daughter, Tracy Lawhon and husband, Blake; grandchildren, Matthew Lawhon, Mackenzie Lawhon and Marlee Lawhon, all of Mineral Wells, and granddaughter, Mariah Lawhon, of Houston; sisters, Cheryl Smith and husband, Dan, of North Carolina, Joyce Yandell and husband, Terry Lowe, of Lubbock, and sister-in-law, Laura Yandell, of Fort Worth; nephews, Kyle Yandell, Caleb Yandell, David Smith and Michael Schwab; nieces, Karen Trimble, Kathy Halstead and Kami Schwab; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Goldsberry and husband, Jody, of Burleson; and father-in-law, John D. Moore, of Mineral Wells. Ron was preceded in death by father Artie Chester Yandell, mother Jessie Yandell Peeples, and brother Bruce Yandell. The private memorial service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2016; and your prayers are requested by the family. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, THE FAMILY REQUESTS DONATIONS BE MADE TO THE RONALD L. YANDELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND THROUGH ANY BRANCH OF FIRST FINANCIAL BANK.
