Romona Thomas

Romona Thomas of Mineral Wells, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Mrs. Thomas was born September 14, 1935 to Denny and Vera Crabb Bailey in True, Texas. She married William Thomas on December 31, 1952 in Olney, TX. She moved to Mineral Wells in December of 1956 with her husband and was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years. As a stay at home mom, she was involved in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, sports, band, and many other extracurricular activities with her children. Having four children of their own, the Thomas household was always filled with their children and many of their friends throughout the years. After her children were grown she entered the workforce and retired from Peco Federal Credit Union after 22 years of service.She was preceded in death by both of her parents, sister Dorothy Nicholson, brother Tony Bailey, son in Law Mike Halencak, and great-grand daughter, Amberly Isham.Survivors include her husband William Thomas, sister Peggy Scott, daughter Denise McDonald, daughter Becky Thomas, son Bill Thomas and wife Traci, daughter Robin Halencak, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 4 at Calvary Baptist Church with Mark Alcorn and David Harp officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
