Roland Hayes Schultz Sr. 79 of Mineral Wells went to be with his Lord on May 4, 2013. Roland was born in Brushie Prairie, Texas, February 27, 1934, the son of the late Robert Sr. and Eliza (Hunt) Schultz. Roland knew his Lord and Savior; he was baptized at a very young age at St. Delights Methodist Church, and later became a steward at Hughes Chapel in Mineral Wells Roland went on to graduate from Pelham High School. In 1954 Roland married Jean Alden Cottrell in Corsicana, Texas. The two of them brought to life 7 glorious children. Roland mastered everything he chose to do, from working at the Highway Department, Southern Airway to Geer Tank Truck which is where he spent most of his career. Later in life he gave way to the entrepreneur spirit and became proud owner of a furniture and antique business. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with family, when he did get some free time he enjoyed fishing, collecting antiques and browsing flea markets. Roland leaves behind children: Latitia Cade of Mineral Wells, Jennifer and husband Lowrance Rollie of Mineral Wells, Sonja and husband Terry Brady of Mineral Wells, Maria and husband Lawrence Searl of Dallas, Texas, Roland Jr. and wife Karen Schultz of Mineral Wells and Stephen Schultz of Mineral Wells; brother, Marcellas and wife Louvenia Schultz of Fort Worth; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by both parents and a daughter, Chrystal Schultz and his wife Jean Alden Schultz in June of 2004. Funeral service is Saturday May 11, 2013 11:00am at Hughes Chapel; burial will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
