Robin "Bob" Dempsey, 69, of Mineral Wells, Texas passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018. Bob Dempsey was born Mar. 21, 1948, in Mineral Wells to William Henry and Margie Pauline Wilson Dempsey. Residing in Mineral Wells his entire life, Bob was a Vietnam War veteran and Purple Heart recipient. An avid outdoorsman, Bob enjoyed farming, ranching, and team roping as well as hunting and fishing. He was also a savvy stockman, buying and selling goats, sheep, cattle, and horses. Bob was a dedicated family man and a dear friend to so many, and he will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Upham of Mineral Wells; son, Zachary Dempsey of Mineral Wells, daughters, Kathy Garrett Gear and husband, Wade of Ft. Worth, Melinda Mayes-Kelly and husband, Robbie of Weatherford; grandchildren, Katie and Libby Gear, and Madi Kelly; brothers, Toney Dempsey and Crocket Grimes and wife, Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Miller Dempsey; parents, Bill and Pauline Dempsey; daughter, Traci Dempsey; and brothers, Bill Dempsey and Cullen Grimes. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, Mineral Wells with private burial Tuesday at Woodland Park Cemetery, Mineral Wells. Rev. Brian Nierman, Rev. Pamela Holt, and Rev. Dr. Ken Hall will officiate. Martin Hernandez, AnnaCarole Holt, Colton Lively, Kevin Sprague, Ilir Ukaj and Mergim Ukaj are pallbearers. Dan Anderson, Kap Cearley, Jose Diaz, A.D. Garrett, Richard Gary, Charles Gatlin, Dickie Griffin, Laun Lively, James McQuaid, Keith Ragle, Ken Russell, Xhevdet Ukaj, and Mike Underwood are honorary pallbearers.
