Robert Harry Miller Jr., 74, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2018. Robert grew up in Fort Worth, TX. Although begrudging to admit, Robert was born in Los Angeles, CA on August 1, 1943. A graduate of Polytechnic High School, he chose to enlist in the Navy. Ultimately gaining the rank of Petty Officer 3rd class, he served on the USS Sea Devil, a Balao-class submarine, as radar and sonar operator and supported missions in the Philippines, Korean Peninsula, and Japan. He also served with the US Marines as Beach Master in Cuba during Operation Ortsac in 1962, the planned invasion of Cuba, during the Cuban Missile Crisis.After serving honorably, he worked for General Dynamics as an engineer and was part of the team that developed electronic warfare systems that disrupted Russian made air defense artillery, which saved many pilots lives during the Vietnam War.Robert spent the balance of his career in medical sales selling X-ray, CT, and MRIs. He was the Top Salesman in the United States for Siemens, three years running. He also had successful years with GE and Philips in sales. He then went on to launch his own company, Imaging System Services, Ltd, which leased MRIs and CTs to hospitals all over the United States.Robert is survived by his wife, Wanda Miller, and his four children, Robert Miller III, Natalee Hanna and her husband Nathan, Erik Miller and his wife Nicole, and Katherine Miller. Robert was also a grandfather to Erik's son Rowan and Natalee's daughter Elliana.He is laid to rest in Mineral Wells, TX along with his mother, Ruth Lee, and other family members.In lieu of flowers, send donations to the U.S.O.
