Robert "Dud" Meeks was born on April 26, 1922 to Elmer and Tressie Meeks in Munday, Texas. He moved to Mineral Wells when he was a young boy. Dud joined the Army in 1941. He served his military time in the South Pacific during World War II. He married Betty Williams on July 13, 1946. They were married for 60 years until her death in 2006. Dud was a hard worker and loved his family very much. He had a wonderful life doing the things he enjoyed. Fishing and watching the Texas Rangers are a few of the things he enjoyed. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 10AM at Indian Creek Cemetery. He is survived by children and spouses, Lynn and Inez Meeks, Doreen And Evodio Trejo, and Jim Meeks all from Mineral Wells; sister-in-laws, Milred Meeks and Linnie Knox; brother-in-laws and spouses, Gerald and Carolyn Williams and Andy and Necie Williams; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; daughter, Brenda; brother, Judd Meeks; sisters, Ella Marie Glidewell, Louise Murray, Billye Brown, Betty Coon, and Mary Ruth Huddleston.
