Robert L. (Bob) Henson passed away February 28, 2019 in Mineral Wells. Services will be 10 AM Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is Monday rom 6-8 PM at the funeral home. He was born July 17, 1931 in Milam County, raised in Fort Worth, and moved to Mineral Wells January 5, 1961. He retired as a Safeway Food Store Manager in 1987 after 39 ½ years when the company moved out of Texas, turning down a transfer to Denver, Colorado district to stay in Mineral Wells. He also served 4 years in the Air Force that included a year in Korea. He was a past president and board member of Holiday Hills Country Club, a long time member of the Noon Lions Club having served as president and board member in 1983, and a member of the American Legion where he held several offices and sat on a number of the boards for almost 40 years. He married Frieda Hall in June of 1950. He is survived by his granddaughters: Jessica, Jennifer, and Jacquelyn, great-grandsons: Tommy, Tanner, and Hunter, sister: Opal Hamlin, niece: Tina Rebner and husband Robert, nephew: Tony Vendetti and wife Carola, and great-nephew: Aaron Vendetti. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Freida, daughter: Judy, and brother: Jerry Ray Henson.
