Robert Cowley

Robert Eugene Cowley passed into his Lord's arms on July 30, 2016. He was born on January 21, 1947 in Mineral Wells; the son of Robert W. Cowley and Maggie Russell Cowley. He married Cathy Clark on May 13, 1966 and joined the U.S. Army shortly after. He was very involved in his community. He coached his son's little league team, he was Scout Master for Troop 87 and was very active in the Possum Kingdom Lion's club. Robert was a very hard worker. He worked in construction, carpentry, landscaping, masonry; there wasn't much that he couldn't do. His last job was a maintenance worker for the Brazos River Authority where he made numerous friends. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church at 2pm. He leaves behind his children: Lisa Reed of Casper, Wyoming, Robert A. Cowley of Possum Kingdom, and Cindy Peugh and husband Rodney of Lone Camp; grandchildren: Heather Jones, Nathan Vasquez, Michael and Ricky Cowley, and Katie Peugh; mother: Maggie Cowley; sisters: Clara Eder and Velma Hargrove; brother: Rick Cowley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Cathy Cowley; father: Robert W. Cowley; and brother: John Cowley.
