Robbie Mayfield, 86, passed away April 11, 2009 in a Mineral Wells hospital. She was born September 23, 1922 in Dublin the daughter of Robert and Dora Plaine Cathey. She was raised in Stephenville and was married to E. T. Roberts. She married George C. Mayfield on September 8, 1950. They traveled all over the western US and finally settled in Mineral Wells in 1969. She was the co-owner of the Blue Ribbon Shoe Shop. She was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1969, and was a member of the Mineral Wells Temple # 14 Pythian Sisters. She sent cards to everyone she met. She loved playing cards and dominos. She went to bingo every Saturday night even after she got to where she couldn't play due to her eyesight. She loved to visit all the players and collect all the cold drink cans. She enjoyed the Pythian Sisters, especially all the visiting and meals. Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Barry Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Clairette Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Kathleen Frazier of Arlington, Cindy and Oscar Choate of Mineral Wells, son and daughter-in-law: George and Brenda Mayfield of Mineral Wells, grandchildren: Robert Scottern, Destiny Barnett, Damon Alexander, Dianna Leggett, Daniel Choate, Oscar Choate, Christopher Mayfield, George Mayfield, Michael Mayfield, great-grandchildren: Kyle, Nicole, Nathan, Bryce, McKenzie, Chelsea, Hayden, T. J., Lexie, Devon, Zane, great-great-grandchildren: Kyle Bradley, and Emma. She was preceded in death by her husband: George C. Mayfield on June 15, 2001, twin sister: Roberta Schantz, and older sister: Beth Lockhart.
