Richard Wayne Watkins

Richard Wayne Watkins, 84, of Mineral Wells, Texas passed away to his Heavenly Home on August 14, 2022. He was born August 28, 1937, in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, to Nicholas and Kathryn Miller Watkins.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sturdivant Cemetery.

Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Wanda LaDain Willett. They shared 55 years of marriage. Richard’s joy in life was the Lord and his family and friends. He was a loving Dad and Granddad and sincerely loved by many.

Richard served in the Korean War in the Army as a heavy equipment operator with the Combat Engineers. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, hauling household furniture from coast to coast. Richard was also a Captain for Corrections Corporation of America where he retired.

Survivors include his four sons, Ricky Watkins and wife Karen, Ronald Watkins and wife Kelly, Randy Watkins and wife Robin, Rory Watkins and wife Lindsey; daughter, Rhonda Emery and husband James; and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
