Rex Weldon Lee

Rex Weldon Lee died June 14, 2013 in Mineral Wells, Texas. He was born July 12, 1945 in the Crazy Hotel Clinic. He enlisted in the United States Army when he was 18 and served for 20 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and served in Korea, Germany, and the United States. He received the following decorations for his military service: Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 3 Overseas Service Bars, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, Driver Badge with Bar, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon. His funeral was at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10 AM. He was laid to rest in the family plot in Woodland Park Cemetery with Military Honors. The pallbearers were his great-nephews. Rex is survived by his brothers Ronald and Donald, sisters Bobbye and Ruth, brothers-in-law Clarence and Henry, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Y. Lee and Ivy Lee, brothers Alvin, Arville, Dale, Doyle, and Carl Lee, and sisters Dean, Verna, and Alma. He will be sorely missed by his family and the three dogs and two cats that he loved and that loved him. Rex liked animals, deer, raccoons, squirrels, birds, and stray cats came into his yard and he fed them all. So long as he was able, he put deer corn, bird seed, and food and water under a tree in his yard and enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the animals. After he became ill, he arranged for his neighbor to continue feeding the animals.
