Raymond Alford Tomlin, 91, passed away December 22, 2017 in Mineral Wells. Raymond was born May 11, 1926 in Walnut Grove to Aubrey and Faye Rollins Tomlin. He married Cordelia Arnold on July 4, 1947 in Flint. He had lived in Mineral Wells for the past 5 years and in Weatherford prior to that. He served as an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God for over 60 years. He pastored COG congregations in Hastings, Nebraska; Canon City, Colorado; Freedom (Emory), TX; Slaton, TX; Plainview, TX; Brownfield, TX; Kilgore, TX; and Whitehouse, TX. He was also State Evangelist for the Churches of God in Texas on three different occasions as well. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army. Raymond and Cordelia are survived by children, Raymond Lee and wife Debbie Tomlin of Lubbock, Martin and wife Rosalinda Tomlin of Helotes, Sharon Walker of Pennington, and Jerrel and wife Melinda Tomlin of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Leslie, Carrie, Melissa, Jerry, Taylor, Martin Dean, and Analissa; numerous great grandchildren; his sister, Ruby Zardiackas of Caldwell, and numerous nieces and nephews; her sisters, Aline Watson of Rosenburg, TX, and Helen Hamilton of Kilgore; and sister-in-law Hazel Arnold of Troup. Cordelia Arnold Tomlin, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Mineral Wells. She was born August 24, 1931 in Tyler to Frank Arnold and Myrtle Owens Arnold. Cordelia is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Evan Arnold, Jerrel Arnold, and an infant brother; her husband, Reverend Raymond Tomlin. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ray, Rayburn, Reba, Roy, and Richard; and grandson, Tracy Tomlin. Funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Tomlin were at 2PM Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Cottle Funeral Home Chapel in Troup. Burial followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Reverend Shawn Tomlin- walker and Reverend Jerrel Tomlin officiating with burial to be at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Whitehouse, TX 75791, under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
