R. Dill

R. B. Dill Sr., 94, passed away August 31, 2011 at his home in Mineral Wells. He was born October 19, 1916 in Brown County, Texas the son of H. C. and Willie Bell Barton Dill. He married Ruby Butler in 1940 and they were married for 64 years when she passed away in 2004. He married Georgia Coulson in February 2006. His family moved to Granbury where he attended high school and worked at different jobs. He moved to Fort Worth and worked for Vandervoort & Boswell Dairy's. He transferred to Mineral Wells in 1952 with Boswell Dairy's. He worked for Harry Riley at Station KORC in the 1960's. He went to work for the Agriculture Department of Texas and retired in 1976. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 611, the Moslah Shrine, past president of the Kiwanis, member of the Lions Club and the First Christian Church. He went to Japan in 2006 and cruised the Mediterranean in 2008. Services will be 2 PM Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Pam Holt and Dr. John Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife: Georgia Dill, daughter: Mary Bell Condra, son and daughter-in-law: R. B. Jr. "Pete" and Diane Dill, granddaughters: Melody Lynn Thomas, Crystal Cadaret, Rhonda England, Decia Munoz, 4 great-granddaughters, 1 great-grandson, 1 great-great-grandson, and sister: Willrena Dill Sommers. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother: Rexford, and sister: Reba.
