Percy Wayne Neal, 79 of Mineral Wells; beloved husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 4,2010 in Stephenville, TX Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church in Mineral Wells with Terry Liles and David Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Hasse, TX. Visitation will be held Sunday from 6 - 8pm at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Wayne was born on September 19, 1931 to the late Percy and Goldie Cole Neal of Dublin. He married his sweetheart Ima Lou Cox, July 5, 1952 in Comanche. Wayne proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for eight years. He served in the Korean War and was a Purple Heart recipient. He worked for the Federal Aviation Agency and was a master carpenter. Wayne loved the Lord and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and an ordained deacon. He spent many years as a Sunday School teacher working with children through young adult classes. He and Lou also ministered to the military men from Ft. Wolter's welcoming them into their home and inviting them to attend church with their family. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lou; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Richard Porter of Stephenville; grandson USMC Lcpl Kelvin Porter of Kings Bay, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law Vickie and Joy Cooper of Mineral Wells; Barry and Jacquline Cooper, Chelsa, Blake and Dakota Cooper of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; granddaughter Lisa Johnston-Coe and husband John of Mineral Wells, Ridge Johnston, Morgan and Trace Coe of Mineral Wells, Ashley Johnston Smith of Weatherford and Cody Johnston of Millsap; granddaughter Krista Sparks of Reno, Nevada; Louis Edwards Jr. and wife Kimberly, Heaven and Lilli Edwards of Sacramento, California; brothers Cecil and wife Lois, Billy Neal and wife Anita, and his sister Norma Shafer. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Neal; sisters Mildred White, Dorothy Shafer, and Joan Strube.
