Paul Reece Harrington

Paul Reece Harrington, 81, passed away February 10, 2011 in a Fort Worth hospital. He was born September 7, 1929 in Wichita County the son of Paul Jackson and Willie Thomason Harrington. He married Emma Frances Shaw on October 6, 1952 in Marietta. He married his second wife Mearlene in Mineral Wells. He was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War. He loved sports, especially football, baseball, and bowling. His daughter wishes to express special thanks to his niece Debbie Cogburn for taking care of him when she was not able. Sevices will be 10 AM Monday, February 14, 2011 in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Rev. Tim Snider officiating. Burial will be 10 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo. The pallbearers will be Paul D. Harrington, Bill Hand, Jason Purefoy, Tim Cason, Lane Abbott, and Steve Fallin. The honorary pallbearers will be Roy Harrington, Rex Davis, and Todd Davis. He is survived by his wife: Mearlene Harrington of Mineral Wells, daughter and son-in-law: Paula and John Purefoy of Little Elm, step-son: Gene Boykin of Beaufort, South Carolina, grandchildren and spouses: Stefanie and David Abbott of Cleburne, Jason Purefoy of Little Elm, great-grandchildren: Lane Abbott and Jason Purefoy II, brother and sisters: Kenneth Harrington of Norman, Oklahoma, Delia 'Dee' Fallin of Lone Camp, Ruth Davis of Mineral Wells, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife: Emma Frances Harrington, children: Darla Ann and David Reece Harrington, parents, and brother: Bill Harrington.
