Patsy and her husband moved to Mineral Wells in 1959 with their two children, and she went to work for Elliott & Waldron Abstract Company of Palo Pinto, Inc. when it was a new company, and built the abstract plant from the ground up. She worked at Elliott & Waldron from 1959 to 1981 when she ventured out at that time to be an oil and gas landman in Tennessee and Texas. After the oil boom, and then the oil bust, in the late 1980's she went back to her love in the title industry and built another plant in a new company known as Texas Abstract. The company was sold in 2004, and she came back to work at Elliott & Waldron. She has been in the real estate and title business now for 55 plus years. Ms. Moody was a long time resident of Mineral Wells, Texas, and was active in several organizations of the community as well as her church family. On her first visit to Northside Baptist Church in August, 1959, the pianist was sick and Patsy's husband, J.T., "volunteered" her to fill in. She agreed to take the position of pianist temporarily until the permanent position was filled. Patsy has been the "temporary" pianist at Northside for almost 50 years now. She has been a member of the Granbury Chapter of the Eastern Star for about 60 years. She was a former member of the Zonta Club in Mineral Wells. She was nominated for the Mineral Wells Index's Woman of the Year in the 1980's. She was crowned Ms. Senior Palo Pinto County in September, 2007, and since the pageant was not held in 2008, she still holds that title. She was also chosen as Most Talented and Ms. Congeniality. She was a former Deputy in the Erath County Clerk's office, Court Reporter, legal secretary, escrow officer, as well as a licensed real estate agent for many years under several different real estate firms. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Thomas (J.T.) Moody, brothers, W. J. (Dub) Rhoades, Raymond Lee Rhoades and Billy Joe Rhoades. Her family was the pride and joy of her life.
