Oneita Crounse

Oneita Faye Crounse entered the gates of heaven on Monday, September 4, 2017. She was born on June 18, 1927 to Roy and Grace Purefoy. She was born and raised on NE 23rd Street here in Mineral Wells. She attended the Price School House until the 7th grade and then graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1944. She married Verdon Crounse on December 24, 1944. Together they had 5 children and were married for 66 years. To her grandchildren and many others, she was known as "Ma". She was the unshakable rock and glue of our family. She was strong, loyal, steadfast and you never had to question what she was thinking. She even had the same best friend, Mittie Ballard, for 77 years! Her grandchildren were her pride and joy! She had 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. She was member of Northside Baptist Church where she served many roles, the greatest of these was that of a prayer warrior. She loved to cook, garden and play 42! She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Verdon, daughters Becky Miller and Oliece Fagan, son, Lamar Crounse, grandson, Monty Crounse and great grandson Michael Facteau. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Peggy Boyanton and husband Mike, her son, Al Crounse and Wendy Love, her brother, Wesley Purefoy, all her grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
