Ona LaRue Halford Hughes Weaver passed away May 7, 2020 in Wichita Falls. She was born November 7, 1929 to Virgle and Emma Goodbar Halford, in Mineral Wells. Ona lived in 11 different decades, 2 centuries, and a lifetime of technological advancements, historic moments, and priceless memories during her 90 years.
Mom, sister, daughter, wife, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, niece, friend; so many titles to so many people over a lifetime of adventures. Four children, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, five generations of family legacy.
Ona was preceded in death by two loving husbands, Robert Ford Hughes and Leonard Scott Weaver; as well as by her only son, Thomas Leonard Weaver.
She is survived by one of 5 siblings, Patsy Halford Dillard; 3 biological daughters, Linda Sharon Weaver Pendergrass and husband Bill; Margaret Susan “Susie” Weaver Lowey and husband Jack; Donna Jean Weaver Harris; two equally loved step-children, Troy Collins and wife Mary and Floy Ann Hughes Walters; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Indian Creek Cemetery.
