Odessa Ewing

Odessa Mae Ewing, 88, passed away July 13, 2017 at her home in Mineral Wells. She was born July 22, 1928 in Kaufman County the daughter of Chalmer Ellis and Jessie Estell Rush Darr. She had lived in Mineral Wells for the past 8 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Palo Pinto and loved her church family and the senior citizens group at church. She loved garage sales and her costume jewelry, but most of all her family. Graveside services will be 2 PM Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Sweetwater Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 7-9 PM at the funeral home. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: James A. and Paula Dodd of Palo Pinto, daughter: Phyllis Jean Dunning of Rowlett, sister: Judy Ann Smith of Wichita Falls, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was known as Nanny and Great Nanny by all her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Guy Ewing in January of 2008, brother: Eugene Darr, son: Eddie Leroy Dodd, and daughter: Wanda Gayle Rice.
