Nora Sisemore

Nora Lu Sisemore 76 of Mineral Wells passed away on March 20, 2014. Nora was born in Port Jervis, New York; the daughter of Ira and Carolyn (Sherwood) Carpenter. Nora was adopted at birth by R. Thomas and Eleanor Knapp. They raised her with strong Christian beliefs, taught her to love and to believe in herself and work for what she desired. Nora joined the U.S. Navy and was trained as a cryptographer. She married her husband, Daniel while in the Navy. Nora loved the simple life; she enjoyed discussing about politics, spending time and loving her favorite pet; grand "kitty" Nina. Nora also took in stride the changes that life gave her, whether good or bad. She was a 23 year member of the American Legion. She will be missed by many loved ones. She leaves behind husband: Daniel Sisemore; daughter: Kathryn Sisemore; son: Thomas Sisemore; adopted by love, daughter: Marlene; grandchildren: Sarah and Cristopher. Pallbearers will be Doug Brown, Mike Bumgardner, Jimmy Harmon, Randy Ezell, Bob Henson and Wade Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Owens, Darrell Owens, Mike King, Eddie Talbert and Sons of Legions and Legionnaires. Visitation will be Sunday March 23, 2014 from 6-8PM. Funeral service is scheduled for Monday March 24, 2014 at 10AM in the funeral home chapel; burial will follow at Staggs Prairie Cemetery.
