Niels Kaj Nelson Jr.

Niels Kaj Nelson Jr., 77, passed away Jan. 31, 2018 at Mansfield Methodist Hospital. He was born April 2, 1940, in Biloxi Mississippi, the youngest child of Niels and Kathleen Rickard Nelson. He was in the U.S. Army from 1961 - 1967, stationed at Fort Wolters, Mineral Wells where he met and married Mary Boyle Nelson on Oct. 31, 1964. They were married for 5o years. He retired from General Motors after 32 years and enjoyed several years of wood working and oil painting.He is survived by his children and spouses, Donna and Joe Cedillo of Arlington, and Tina Nelson and Brant Archey of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Cole, Kaj and Mya Archey; his sister Marie Meier of Wiggins, Mississippi; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two brothers Leo Nelson and Marshal Nelson.Graveside services will be Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Woodland Park Cemetery, Mineral Wells, Texas. A short viewing will be from 1:30p.m. until the service at the cemetery. Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home will be in charge of the funeral arrangements.
